Unlock the Potential of Subcutaneous Formulations
Subcutaneous (SC) formulations hold tremendous potential for biotherapeutics and are highly desirable to both patients and clinicians. However, SC formulation development comes with a host of challenges, namely that technological limitations have made accurate aggregation and bioavailability predictions impossible. To unlock the true potential of SC formulations, we need technology that can simulate the in vivo environment and help to predict the human scenario.
SCISSOR N3 - Biorelevant In vitro studies for Short Term and Extended Release Assays
The Subcutaneous Injection Site Simulator N3 (SCISSOR N3) bridges the gap between standard dissolution, solubility results and in vivo pharmacokinetics (PK), by providing a biorelevant platform for candidate testing and selection in vitro. SCISSOR N3 allows for highly accurate simulation of the SC space through use of an artificial extracellular matrix (ECM) cartridge. In combination with Pion’s extended release ECM - the ECM-XR - SCISSOR allows researchers to carry out longer-term studies up to seven days for various long acting injectables (LAIs)!
